Stop Motion

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg--c40f8W8

This is a stop motion video consisting of around 750 photos. I had the idea to have someone undress, so I had my friend Jack model for me because he agreed to it. I also added some "animation" with the clothes to ensure that my video would be long enough. I like how it turned out but I will definitely want to try this again one day in a better lit setting.

Shadows and Reflections

I recently played around in photoshop with the idea of reflections of a normal picture. After some experiments with it, I decided I really liked to have the "reflection" be black and white. Both of these surreal reflections are different in that the city scape is a direct reflection, and the bridge is a flipped reflection. There is no reason behind that other than I thought it looked best that way. I enjoyed creating these pictures and I plan on constructing more like them whenever I take a wide shot of a pretty view.

I took this shadow picture on my iphone while I was out with friends to dinner. We were in San Bruno and this large cross walk was outside of a mall and I really liked the way that the shadows looked with the parallel lines. I also took this picture with my film camera, but the picture came out a bit blurry.

Self Portraits

For this assignment, we had to create self portraits based on a random word. The word I happened to get was "sexual". I wasn't sure exactly how I personally wanted to portray the word, so I kinda just played around in front of the camera with some help from a friend who let me borrow a flash. We then started playing around with smoke, and I included one of the smoke pictures as well.

Portraits

For this assignment, I pretty much just explored Golden Gate Park with my good friend and lovely model, Nic, and took pictures of him while walking around. There are multiple shots, varied from "small" to "extra large".
They are all very simple but I really like the way that they turned out.

Childhood Memory

Lucky for me, this assignment was assigned the week before I went home for the weekend. I used my little 3 year old brother as my model, and he was surprisingly good at doing exactly what I asked. The first picture shows the memory of jumping on the trampoline and feeling higher than the world. I always thought I was jumping super high whenever I was on a trampoline, when in reality, it was no more than a couple of feet.
The second picture portrays the memory of not being able to reach whatever yummy snack was sitting around on the counter in the kitchen. My specific memory is of reaching for the cookie jar in my mom's old house. Unfortunately I didn't have a cookie jar at my dad's so I just grabbed all the junk food out of the cupboards that I could find.

Isolation

For this isolation assignment, I had a few different ideas of what to do, but I ended up not really doing any of the ideas that I had. This was due a few weeks ago, and since I had it in the back of my mind whenever I was out, I ended up with a variety of images that I thought showed isolation.
The city picture and the palm tree picture were both taken with film, and the other two with digital.

Expected/Unexpected

I enjoyed this assignment, and had quite a few ideas of things to photograph. I ended up sticking with the idea of using frosting as the main subject of the photos, one in which the icing is on a cupcake, and the other in which frosting is used as toothpaste.
I uploaded the color pictures as well as the black and white because I personally preferred the color images for this assignment.
I plan on continuing work on this theme, but I have to figure out exactly what I want the pictures to look like. I am also planning on playing with the toothbrush picture in photoshop and making sprinkles come out of the sink in place of the water.
